Focused on the relationship of adolescents to the media, the workshop aims to raise parents' awareness of the dangers of overexposure of young people to the various existing media in their learning, communication and entertainment environment and to bring some simple strategies to supervise these young people sometimes left to themselves. Even if the young teenager is empowered, the parental gaze is ultimate.

Training session of May 26, 2018 in Lomé
During my recent stay in Togo, I had the honor of being invited by Mr. Marcellin Tsamédi , Director and CEO of JIMSCOM, a company growing in solutions digital, to lead a workshop dedicated training has a group of young people entrepreneurs : the Amazons. It was on the eve of my departure for Canada! Given our busy schedules at this specific time, this workshop should be postponed to a later date but the JIMSCOM team and I had mobilized the necessary means to make the session possible. It was fabulous and rewarding in a bucolic setting with a few rustles from passers-by! This is Africa, my Africa! The continent of human warmth, the land of sharing and good humor even in rudimentary tents! A semiotic reading of the few views taken during the session will tell you more!
JIMSCOM's Amazons! , Yes, they are strong, courageous, disciplined and very attentive to listening to me. Those youth professionals in activity or in the future are part of a supervised employability program by the good care of Mr. Marcellin and his team.
During our discussions, I had the pleasant opportunity to discover the talent and the will of a group of young people ambitious women seeking ways and means to impact their generation, Togolese and African society through their work, their initiatives and their various business commitments. It was exciting and stimulating to use our expertise for the benefit of this young who is only waiting for actions of this kind to launch in their various professional, community or collective initiatives.
In less than two hours, I had a great want to stay even longer to be able to bring them my contributions, in initialization, formalization and in writing business plans but time was unfortunately against us. I had to leave ! ! !
Komi Kounakou, associate member of the Unesco Chair in communication and technologies for development at UQAM stayed in Côte d'Ivoire from December 3 to 12, 2018. During his stay, Mr. Kounakou made an intervention with doctoral students and Master's / Master's degree from the Center for Studies and Research in Communication at the Félix Houphouët-Boigny University in Cocody (Abidjan) on the following topic : “On the need to integrate Media and Information Literacy into the Info-Com programs of African universities”. The meeting aimed to create awareness of this area which remains very undervalued in African schools and universities. In fact, the dazzling access of young Africans to interconnected media calls for the development of relevant training and support strategies for the media and digital skills essential to the digital age. Thus, according to Mr. Kounakou, academics, experts and professionals in formal and nformal education have a fundamental role to play.
During her stay, Komi Kounakou also trained education professionals (primary and secondary) in the challenges of critical and responsible media consumption. Several themes were discussed including the importance of Media and Information Literacy in schools and families. One of the training workshops held in a disadvantaged school in the suburbs of Abidjan enabled the researcher associated with the Chair to draw up a rapid map of the different digital uses of the teachers encountered, their knowledge of media/digital literacy and their support needs.
Komi Kounakou observed a kind of " digital revolution characterized by the changes caused by mobile telephony and social networks in the teaching practices of Ivorian towns and villages.
